Celtic Thistle Highland Dancers began with two students in a lounge-room in 2015. Today, it is a vibrant school with more than 25 students ranging in age from 3 to 36.
The school offers classes for recreation, annual examinations, performances, and competitions at local, regional, and international levels. Our dancers have competed throughout Australia and internationally in Scotland, New Zealand, and Canada.
Our friendly studio offers classes for all ages (3+) and levels. Dancers are encouraged to dance for fun, for fitness, and/or for competition in a positive, considerate environment. Theory lessons and preparation for professional examinations are also offered.
Celtic Thistle Highland Dancers are excited to partner with Highland Hustle with Sarah, the only licensed Highland Hustle classes offered in Perth.
Highland Hustle is a unique Scottish dance based workout with a feel good factor! It’s accessible, with ranges from beginner to advanced – two left feet? never danced before? It really doesn’t matter. It is all about having fun. For more information about Highland Hustle, visit their website
Our teachers have valid Working With Children Checks and are First Aid and CPR certified.

Teacher and Highland Hustle Instructor
Sarah began dancing at the age of 7 in New Zealand and competed at premier level for over four years before moving to Perth. She placed in the top 6 of the New Zealand championship and the Auckland City of Sails open championship. Sarah is now semi retired as a dancer and is working towards a full teachers’ qualification with BATD. Sarah is a licensed Highland Hustle instructor.
Aurian comes from a family of dancers and rejoined highland as an adult when her loungeroom hosted the beginning of Celtic Thistle! She loves dance, movement, and the community that is built around practise, performance, and competition. Aurian genuinely enjoys instilling the love of dance in our community of dancers and helping them to use their practise to build their life skills and resilience. She is working towards her teachers’ exams.
